UND Scholarly Commons
About the Commons
Established in 2017, the UND Scholarly Commons is the institutional repository at the University of North Dakota. The UND Scholarly Commons is a service provided by the Chester Fritz Library to promote the work of UND’s scholarly community. It provides a unified home for research conducted across UND schools, colleges, and departments. It also provides digital access to:
- UND Journals and Peer-Reviewed Series
- Elwyn B. Robinson Department of Special Collections
- UND Art Collections
- Theses and Dissertations
UND Scholarly Commons staff provide several services to increase your scholarship’s impact and will deposit your work on your behalf. The following deposit services are available to all UND faculty, staff, and students.
You can deposit a work to UND Scholarly Commons yourself by using our Single Work Deposit Form. When you submit the form, the file and descriptive information you provide are placed in a queue for review by library staff. You will receive an email alerting you when your work becomes available on the Commons.
If you have published several works you would like to share, you may place a CV Review Request. At your request, library staff will review your CV or a list of publications, determine copyright and permissions for every work, and deposit permitted materials to UND Scholarly Commons on your behalf. In some cases, we may ask you to help locate alternative versions of an article, such as an accepted manuscript. Depending on the number of publications and our current workload, this review process may take several weeks to complete.
Chester Fritz Library staff will assist departments, centers, labs, and other UND-related groups with creating or transferring existing digital collections to the Commons. This includes but is not limited to journals, conference recordings, or datasets. Schedule a consultation to discuss your collection's specific needs and determine the best workflow for depositing your content. We will work with you to ensure the sustainability of your collection and provide ongoing support.
