Collection Development
Collection development is the ongoing work involved in maintaining and improving our holdings. It encompasses both the acquisition of new books, journals, databases, movies, and the retirement of outdated or damaged materials. Collection development is undertaken by our subject specialist librarians, working with UND faculty.
In the interest of transparency, we post our collection development policies for any interested parties to review.

Our Subject Librarians work closely with UND faculty to purchase resources for the Chester Fritz Library. If you are a faculty member looking to request a resource for your department, please work with your Subject Librarian.
If you have a Popular Reading or DVD recommendation, please make those recommendations through our Popular Reading Suggestion form.
